Myths and Stereotypes in American Film To sum up, all films have stories with an underlying message that make message essential to the film’s credibility. But the American society interprets the messages into myths that can possibly destroy the creator or the film itself. America can also generate gender roles that a film stereotypes. In addition, the American culture is over glorified in the film industry. America needs to look beyond the glamour produced by the movie cameras, and focus more on a real “American Dream.” Overall, I believe a great film should uplift the audience while sending a profound message. The film should not send a message that society can stereotype or create myths. The film should also entertain with an interesting story and appeal to the audience.
